Michael Pontacoloni’s poems appear widely. A chapbook, Anadromous Fish of the Farmington River, won the 2025 Quarterly West chapbook competition and will be published in 2026.
He has received awards and scholarships from the Sewanee Writers Conference, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Southern Review. He holds a PhD from the University of Mississippi and an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he teaches at Indiana University in Bloomington.
